In Angola the Huila Province will see a new thermal station come online. The plant, which will be equipped with 40 generators with the capacity to produce 30 MW, was inaugurated on August 29.
According to the southern region director of Angola’s National Company of Electricity (ENE), Celestino João, the thermal station provides an alternative electricity source to Matala’s hydro-electric dam and satisfies the demand in the provinces of Huíla and Namibe.
João said that ENE is looking to improve supply and expand the network of medium and low voltage in the outskirts of the city, so that every local inhabitant may benefit.
