Nigeria, Iran Discuss Renewable Sources…Again

Discussions on renewable sources of energy were a highlight at the third session of the Nigerian-Iran Joint Commission that began Tuesday in Abuja, Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Alhaji Tijani Kaura said the main goal was to remove obstacles that had hindered the implementation of decisions made in previous sessions. "This meeting should adopt imaginative and constructive strategies and indeed an action plan for the speedy implementation of decisions taken at the two previous sessions of the commission, including those that will be taken at the end of the current session," he said.

Ambassador Chike Anigbo, Nigeria’s Under-Secretary for African and Asian Affairs, said the main issue is to execute previous arrangements before new ones are created. "There would be need to finalize already pending agreements rather than creating new ones," he said.
