Opportunity with Global Energy Governance Program

Release

The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) is an independent non-profit think tank based in Berlin and Geneva. Our mission is to develop innovative strategies for effective and accountable governance and to achieve lasting impact at the interface of the public sector, business and civil society through research, consulting and debate.

Operational since 2003, we have established ourselves as an independent voice on issues related to the reform of international organizations, development assistance, public-private partnerships and global energy governance. GPPi provides a platform for talented and self-driven young professionals to develop their research ideas and pursue their own professional development, supported by the network and peer group brought together in the institute. We share a commitment to effective and accountable governance while remaining independent of political affiliations and agendas.

GPPi seeks to expand its work on global energy governance in the months and years ahead. To that end, we seek an academic/policy entrepreneur with proven experience and expertise in the broader energy security realm (at least 3 years, either in a research or professional context) and an interest to establish him/herself in the policy community in Berlin. The individual should be a self-starter, with the potential to lead GPPi’s work on global energy governance in the medium-term.

Our idea is to jointly expand our work on governance institutions in global energy security which has started in 2006 with a two-year policy research and dialogue project. While funding for a full-time position is not currently available, we would actively collaborate with the candidate to exploit existing fundraising possibilities.
