Powermode Expands Service Footprint

With unprecedented levels of growth in the backup power market in South Africa, Powermode, a leading power provisioning company, reports increasing marketplace acceptance for its preventative maintenance agreements covering diesel and petrol generators, uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS) and battery backup systems.

Powermode’s maintenance scheme is complemented by a four-hour telephonic response for technical queries and priority on-site response for emergency call-outs. The company has nationwide representation with services offered by trained and skilled technicians.

“With the frequency of power outages and the critical nature of southern Africa’s power grid, it is important that standby power plants, particularly in large enterprises, are regularly serviced and adequately supported,” says Jack Ward, Powermode MD.

With this in mind Powermode is placing increased emphasis on its countrywide, contracted service and support operation. The key features of its offering is a ‘flat’ call-out charge for regular service calls no matter where they occur in South Africa.

“Our ‘flat rate’ charge – irrespective of location – is gaining traction among our clients,” says Ward who confirms that Powermode currently provides regular maintenance and emergency support services to more than 2000 corporate sites in South Africa.

“The service is particularly popular with distributed enterprises and national retail chain stores and franchised fast food outlets with multiple branches in diverse locations. They are able to budget accurately for a regular service and support for their mission critical standby power devices, secure in the knowledge that the call-out rate is the same for a remote site in the Karoo as it is in central Johannesburg,” he adds.
