QTE GmbH has supplied South Africa’s largest solar power plant with a controller system. The Northern Cape’s Kalkbult is the largest and also first PV power plant in the country supplying power to the main grid.
The plant has a capacity of 75 MW and is able to produce 135 million kWh of solar energy to meet the needs of 33,000 homes. QTE’s controller is specially configured and programmed in advance at the Vellmar/Kassel office.
“For us, every photovoltaic system is a single project which is supported accordingly. We are proud to be able to contribute to this environmentally friendly major power plant in South Africa. With the experience gained in Kalkbult we will surely be able to successfully implement further projects of this magnitude,“ managing direct Thomas Eusterwiemann said.
