Redavia, out of Germany, is rolling out the leasing of mini-grid models for agro-processing companies in Tanzania. The project has Redavia teaming up with the non-profit organization, Global Village Energy Partnership (GVEP).
Apart from agro-processing companies, the project would also involve communities in Tanzania.
According to GVEP’s newsletter many food processors have to depend on expensive diesel generators to avoid unproductive hours or even days during power cuts. Redavia’s low-cost, per-kWh rental solar farms give businesses and communities immediate access to energy, without the upfront costs of buying a solar farm outright.
The company provides and installs fully-removable turn-key solar farms on flexible contracts.
Service includes full operations and maintenance, and the farms are integrated with gensets to create a hybridized power system. Redavia’s redeployable solar farms reduce reliance on diesel generators and provide low-cost energy.
Rental agreements allow companies to avoid the upfront costs and long term commitments and make solar power a realistic solution to high energy costs.
