• It is one of the only two oil companies in the world to be included in both CLI indexes, which are considered to be the most important worldwide in terms of strategies against climate change.
• Repsol is amongst the three best companies in the industry in risk management and opportunities associated with climate change, the setting of objectives for reducing emissions, and the greenhouse gas emissions inventory report.
• The company has once more achieved the top score of its industry for its climate change strategy in the selective Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes.
Repsol has once again been included in the selective Climate Disclosure Leadership (CDLI) index, which includes the 51 top industrial companies in the world found in the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (Global 500) in terms of communications and transparency regarding climate change.
The company has also been classified in the new Climate Performance Leadership Index (CDPI), that recognizes the 48 companies with the most developed strategy for managing risks and opportunities relating to climate change, and which are taking the best measures to control it.
Repsol is one of just two oil companies in the world to be found in both indexes, and is also one of the two Spanish companies included in the two rankings.
Repsol has successfully withstood a rigorous analysis and evaluation of its conduct and performance in various key aspects, mainly in the company’s strategy against climate change; the risks and opportunities; investment in new technologies to reduce emissions; the management and reporting of the emissions inventory; investment in energy saving and efficiency measures; and the goals for reduction.
The Climate Leadership Index (CLI) is calculated every year based on the results of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the most important analysis worldwide that analyses the strategies against the risks and opportunities of climate change taken by companies on the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (Global 500) that trade on the New York stock exchange.
