Solar Energy Feeds into Israeli Power Grid

Israel’s first commercial solar power project, recently launched by Arava Power Co., will inject 5 MW into the country’s national grid by 2017. The project includes 18,500 solar panels in the Arava Valley and will be able to power three neighboring cities.

The company hopes to provide 10% of Israel’s power via renewable energy and has 40 other contracts for solar projects across the country.
