Projects For All, a non-profit organization announced the second build of ‘Project Hello World,’ an initiative which provides internet access and digital education to under-resourced communities around Africa using solar power. This initiative is in partnerships with Lessons for Life Foundation and in collaboration with Pangea Educational Development.
Currently the project plans to install four solar powered outdoor computer stations called ‘Hello Hubs’ in the central and western regions of Uganda. The installation is expected to start near the end of October and be complete by mid-December. Once installed the ‘Hello Hubs’ will connect thousands of Ugandans to the internet.
The project’s first build, in 2013, saw the installation of a ‘Hello Hub’ in Suleja, Nigeria.
The initiative, which aims to reach more than 2 million people within the next five years, will
continue to expand across Africa and the Middle East.
