The construction of the Ayémé Plaine photovoltaic solar power plant in Gabon is now underway. A subsidiary of independent power producer Solen Renewable Dubai has begun construction of the 120 MWp facility outside of the country’s capital city Libreville.
The subsidiary, Solen SA Gabon, undertaking the project, will also install a 15-hour battery energy storage system. The energy generated from the project is expected to be sold to Société d’Energie et d’Eau du Gabon (SEEG), for distribution in Libreville and surrounding areas. The power station will be developed in two phases of 60 MWs each.
