The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has announced that it will cancel the country’s renewable energy feed-in tariff program in order to focus on its IPP procurement program. Nersa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, will instead open a bidding process for proposals on new generation capacity. A mandatory bidder briefing session will be held on September 14.
