Tanzania Cracks Down on Conventional Energy Suppliers

As Tanzania looks to push more renewable energy efforts, conventional energy suppliers should beware. Tanzania’s Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority will begin taking legal action against suppliers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) that uses faulty cylinders.

The country has been encouraging the use of alternative and cheaper sources of energy for domestic and industrial use, manufacturing the products locally in order to decrease dependency on imports and the oil industry. By imposing legal action, Tanzania hopes to decrease harmful and unsafe products used by the LPG sector.
