Toshiba Outfits Turkish Geothermal Plant

Toshiba will install a total of 40 MW for two geothermal power plants in Turkey, marking its first venture into the country’s geothermal sector. A 30-MW flash steam generation system will pull hot water under high pressure into a separator to produce steam and a 10-MW binary cycle power facility will use lower temperature fluid to vaporize a liquid with a lower boiling point.

Toshiba is one of the largest suppliers in the geothermal sector with a 23% market share. The company has installed 52 geothermal systems around the world, including North America, Southeast Asia, and Europe, with a combined capacity of 2,800 MW.
