Total Kenya partnered with Solarkiosk Kenya to establish solar-powered kiosks in remote areas with little or no connection to the national power grid. The partnership has seen the launch of two such kiosks in Machakos and Murang’a counties among rural communities, providing solar powered products and services to off-grid and limited connectivity communities.
The commercial partnership is a result of successful implementation of the project last year in pilot studies, which involved the establishment of two solar-powered energy and connectivity hubs. The hubs used a modular solar-powered structure called Solarkiosk e-hubb, leading to implementation of the project on a large scale.
