Uganda is the home of a first in Africa’s renewable energy charge, a solar-powered bus. The bus, according to its manufacturer Kiira Motors, is the first solar-powered bus to be driven in public.
The Kayoola protype electric bus, on display at a stadium in Kampala, has two batteries one of which can be charged by solar panels on the roof.
Kiira is now looking to attract investors to help manufacture the bus for the mass market.
