US Commando Raids in Africa Capture Al Qaeda Fugitive

US special forces in Africa saw the capture of a top-level Islamist militant hiding in Libya. Anas Al Liby, wanted in connection with the 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, was caught in Tripoli. Al Liby hs been on the FBI’s most wanted list for over 10 years with a $5-million reward.

Meanwhile, Somalia’s Al Qaeda splinter group, Al Shabab, was also targeted although that raid appears to have been foiled. The Al Shabab leader is suspected to be involved in the deadly attack in Kenya’s Westgate shopping center, leaving 67 people dead.
