Vergnet Wins Contract for Algeria’s First Wind Farm

Algeria’s gas utility company Sonelgaz’ subsidiary Compagnie de l’engineering de l’ électricité et du gaz (CEEG) has awarded Vergnet a €24 million contract to build the first wind farm in Algeria. The French wind turbine manufacturer will design, manufacture, and install the 10 MW farm in Adrar located in southern Algeria.

 

The terms of the project allow for a period of 23 months from the coming into force of the contract with the wind farm expected to be operational in 2012.
