Côte d'Ivoire has obtained a loan of over $ 325 million from the International Development Association (IDA), one of the World Bank's subsidiaries. The loan will be used to rehabilitate and extend the national electricity transmission and distribution network.

The government will also use a portion of the funds for the acceleration of the connection of households in 10 regional capitals and rural areas in the southwest region of the country.

Although the project as a whole is financed by the International Development Association, the country will be responsible for financing the development of sites and compensating the populations affected by the initiative, according to the World Bank website .
