Morocco’s ONEE to Launch Hydroelectric Projects
Thursday April 27, 2017  Printer Friendly Email this article

Morocco’s National Electricity and Drinking Water Board (ONEE) will launch two hydroelectric projects with an overall capacity of 600 MW. The power stations will be established as pumped energy transfer stations (STEPs).

The two projects, the Mezel II STEP and the Ifahsa STEP, will have a capacity of 300 MW each.

The government will issue several tenders relating to "detailed studies and specifications" and "geological and geotechnical studies." It is expected that ONEE will launch the tenders this year.
