Angola signed three cooperation agreements with the UAE. The agreements cover the fields of energy production, transmission and distribution, as well as in the supply of drinking water.

These agreements concern the setting up of a power plant in Moxico and the installation of an electrical transmission system in order to integrate the eastern region of the country into the entire national electricity grid.

The plant will have a projected capacity of 350 to 400 MW. It will probably work with a hybrid solution combining diesel, gas and solar.

The purpose of these projects is to guarantee electricity supply in the region and to revive mining production in the provinces of Moxico, Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul.

The people will also see their electricity supply improve, according to Joao Baptista Borges, the Angolan Minister of Energy and Water.
