Mali launched a call for tenders for the selection of a consultant as part of its Hybrid Rural Electrification Systems project. The chosen company will be responsible for monitoring the environmental and social compliance of the companies selected to build the hybrid power plants.

The rural electrification project, which serves as a pilot program for the country, is aimed at installing hybrid power plants in 50 rural communities and extending the electricity grid.

Another section is devoted to connecting new households and setting up solar kits for remote areas.

The Malian Agency for the Development of Domestic Energy and Rural Electrification (AMADER) is in charge of compliance with technical and environmental specifications, and it is for this purpose that this call for tenders is launched.

The monitoring contract will be funded through the International Development Association (IDA).

Interested candidates must submit their nominations no later than January 31, 2019
